George Evan Stoddard, son of Elma Marie Skelton, daughter of Ethel Christiana Stevens, daughter of Redick Elisher Stevens, son of Henry Barnabas Stevens (H.B. or Barney) and Lucy Adeline Allred (Adeline) and stepson of Elizabeth Whitlock


Elizabeth Whitlock was born August 6, 1838, in Caldwell County, Missouri, the daughter of Andrew Hyrum Whitlock and Hannah Caroline Allred. "She often enjoyed relating how she sat on the knee of the Prophet Joseph Smith when she was a little girl and of how her brother Charles wrestled with the Prophet as a pastime. Elizabeth turned 14 as the family crossed the plains with the John Tidwell Company, arriving in Salt Lake City in September 1852. Elizabeth was 17 years old when she married H.B. Stevens in Ephraim, Utah, on September 12, 1855. They had eight children. Elizabeth passed away in Ephraim, Utah, August 31, 1915, at the age of 77 years. She was buried beside her husband in the new cemetery.
