George Earl Stoddard, Jr., was born January 7, 1917, in Perry, Oregon, the oldest child of George Earl Stoddard and Elthira Dana Thomas Stoddard. On February 4, 1942 he married Elma Marie Skelton. They had four children, George Evan Stoddard (1945), Jean Claire Stoddard (1948), Robert Earl Stoddard (1950), and Helen Patricia Stoddard (1952).
