Janet Gardner, daughter of Mark Barclay Gardner, son of Brigham Evenson Gardner, son of Neil Gardner, son of Archibald Gardner, son of Margaret Calinder

Margaret Calinder was born in January 1777 at or near Falkirk, Sterlingshire, Scotland, the daughter of Archibald Calinder. She married Archibald Gardner in Glasgow when he was 19 and she 23. They had eight children, three of whom died as infants. Another child was stillborn. She immigrated to Canada with three of her children, following her husband, who had left earlier with the other two children, in 1822. The Gardners first heard the restored gospel in 1843. William and his wife were baptized in 1843, and all the other members except father Robert were baptized in the following years, Archibald in 1845, and Mary in 1848. She traveled to Utah with her family and died April 28, 1862, at age 85, at Mill Creek and was buried beside her husband in the Salt Lake Cemetery.
